Career Services

"Coleman College has a 94% job placement rate."

Career Services

Career Services provides a variety of career development opportunities for students and graduates including contact with local employers, resume writing, effective job-hunting techniques and interview preparation workshops, and individual career counseling sessions.

Employment Assistance

Career Services encourages students to get to know their assigned advisor in the 4th mod of their core program. It is best to make an appointment so your advisor can set aside the time necessary to thoroughly discuss your situation and needs. This is also a good time to get the advisor's input about local employers and their job leads. Career Services Advisors are available Monday through Thursday and office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m

What do Career Services Advisors do?

They work with students and graduates to assist them in the job search process. They don't get the job for you, but they do:
  • Conduct workshops on a variety of job search topics such as resume writing, job searching, and interviewing
  • Locate and develop job leads
  • Process job orders from local companies
  • Screen and send out resumes for jobs that match qualifications and interests of students they are assisting
  • Advise students and graduates about all aspects of career placement
  • Keep students and graduates informed of extra job leads, local Job Fairs, articles and anything that may be of assistance in the job search process
  • Meet with local employers to cultivate relationships and encourage them to hire Coleman College graduates
In Career Services workshops, each student receives a Career Services Workbook that contains valuable information about writing winning resumes and cover letters, interviewing techniques and typical interview questions, salary negotiating, business etiquette, professional image and job search strategies. Mock interviews are also conducted.

As you draw closer to graduation, you will have many questions about the types of employment opportunities that will be available to you, and how to secure your first job in the world of information technology. Your Career Services Advisor will help you every step of the way.
