Students in the Web Media Design program learn core competencies in the design, development, and deployment of effective visual communication across various digital media. Emphasis is placed on preparing to succeed in the rapidly changing webmedia landscape.
Specific courses focus on proficiency in basic office applications; effective business communication; using problem-solving skills to formulate information hierarchy; usability schemes to provide effective access to information; using coding languages for design and functionality; assessing and trouble-shooting technical issues; and utilizing a variety of software tools and techniques to create bitmapped and vector images.
Successful graduates will be fully prepared to utilize graphic design and layout principles to plan, design, and develop web sites and other downloadable or web-accessible content that are effective for their target market and intended purpose.
This degree offers students the opportunity to develop important human relations and communication skills that enhance a career in the design field.
